Marguerre became Senior Executive Vice-President of the Revlon Healthcare Group in 1979. In 2009 he awarded the Legion d’honneur which is the highest decoration bestowed by France. In 2011 he earned the Gold Decoration of Honour for Services to the Republic of Austria. He is responsible for turning Octapharma into one the world’s largest blood plasma product manufacturers. Wolfgang Marguerre donated $17.5 million to renovate the Theater Heidelberg. He lives in Heidelberg, Germany and is married with three children.
