Moshkovich’s initial plan was to build new government buildings on his land in a “New Moscow” development. But after Medvedev and Putin switched jobs at the top of Russia’s government, the plan was abandoned. Business aside, Moshkovich serves in Russia’s Federation Council, the upper house of Russia’s parliament. In March of 2013, he gave over 700 acres of land (estimated at more than $60 million) to the city of Moscow.
