Through the end of the 2014 season, Castro has a .284 career batting average, 846 hits, 51 home runs, 294 runs batted in, 70 stolen bases, and 339 runs scored. He is a three-time MLB All-Star in 2011, 2012, and 2014. He led the National League in hits during the 2011 season. The six-foot, 190-pound shortstop had his 2014 season cut short on September 2nd when he was injured after sliding into home plate. Castro’s most recent season ended with a .292 batting average, 14 home runs, 65 runs batted in, four stolen bases, and 33 doubles in more than 500 appearances at the plate.
