Jean Paul studied at the Ecole Nationale Superieure des Arts Decoratifs in Paris. He worked closely with model and pop singer Grace Jones helping her with image consulting, choreography, album cover creation, and music video direction. His first television advertisement was for Lee Cooper Jeans in 1982. Goude filmed an ad for Chanel Fragrance and put model Vanessa Paradis in a birdcage. In November 2014 Goude shot the controversial cover of Paper magazine featuring Kim Kardashian.
