Stepan also represents the United States in international competition and won a Gold Medal at the 2010 World Junior Championships. In 2013 he signed a two year deal worth $6.15 million. In 2015 he signed a six year deal worth $39 million, which makes him the Rangers 2nd highest paid forward behind Rick Nash. His cousin Zachary was drafted by the Nashville Predators in 2012.
