Until 2002, Bangur served as the executive chairman, when he handed over his position to his son Hari Mohan, a chemical engineer, and now, Bangur serves as the non-executive chairman. Moreover, he serves as the Chairman of NBI Industrial Finance Co Ltd., and the Director of The Didwana Industrial Corporation Ltd., Digvijay Finlease Ltd., and Khemka Properties Pvt. Ltd. Currently, Bangur lives in 51, 000 square feet huge mansion in Kolkata that holds a gym, home theater and temple dedicated to Lord Venkatesh, a Hindu god.
